Isaac Smith - Artist - The Cellist... an Oil Painting

Three instruments that stir my emotions are the cello, the piano and the viola. I wanted to paint visually how I see each instrument sounding when classical music is played. I portrayed the movement of the sound using shapes and color not only within the instrument but also the person playing because the emotion comes from the person.

The sound from the cello emits warm tones that swirl around me; thus the warm colors that swirl around and through the instrument and performer.

The Cellist is 54¾" by 34½" with frame.
